We helped work to build a kitchen at a camp site for the Mighty Warriors’ family camp that will be held later this summer. Oh, and by “we” I mean Alex and Jason. We girls weren’t allowed to help with them “men’s work”. We were told to help prepare lunch for the workers. My daddy would be proud. I kept my mouth shut. J
So, while the men worked the girls took the kids on a hike across the plain and up a foot hill by the mountains. It was probably a 6 mile hike and those kids (and us!) were worn out at the end, but it was tremendously worth it. The young boys pointed out the snake holes … they were HUGE. Bethany made Tasha and I walk in front of her and behind her the whole time. She said, “I think the snakes would either attack the front or the back”. Thanks, B. We didn’t tell her snakes hibernate in the winter.
When we got back to the campsite, we helped cook the meal: goat sausage and fried intestines. They were absolutely delicious!
Thanks for all the updates! Praying for your group here in the states! We are so happy to hear what you are doing and learning while you are there and of the blessings you receive along the way (like nearly being nabbed and eating fried intestines!!) What an adventure! give our love to B too!
