7.11.09

Today has been a really long day, so this post will be brief. This morning Alex, Trish and I went to the feeding we normally go to on Saturday morning. Helped prepare the food until Romi came and picked us up to go to another outreach event. this event was so interesting. We prepared packets of food for families and clothes for children and elderly in Block F (one of the poorer areas). The Namibians (our family and then some) loaded a band in the back of a truck and played gospel music through the city. Then they would park the truck and have people gather to “hear a word” and be prayed over. I have never seen so many people slain in the Spirit at one time.

When it was over it was late (at least to us…not sure what time it actually was). All we kept joking about was how something like that would never go over well in the States. In Chicago I think we’d get shot. But here it drew people and people got food and clothes. The best part of the day was seeing Josie going through her and her husband’s and kids’ closets for clothes to hand out. They didn’t ask for donations. They were the donations. It was incredibly encouraging.

Still no Chandre. Keep praying with me that she’s safe.
