We Laughed.

There's and old Chinese proverb that says, "When the heart is happy the body is healthy." Or something like that.

I just got back from dinner with my small group of RAs. And we're funny people, you know? We sat at dinner, long from finished eating, for over an hour, laughing about everything you could imagine finding humorous. No, no one around us was laughing (save for the few occasional laughs at us). No one was entertaining us. No one was adding to our humor. Just us and our stories and embarrassing moments and awkward situations for the day.

I left dinner fifteen minutes ago. When I walked into my empty room and shut the door behind me, I smiled. I'm satisfied. Not for what I ate or what I didn't. I'm satisfied because, more than my stomach, my soul was fed. I met with people who meet with God and we laughed. I've heard before that laughter is good for the soul. I think I'm starting to believe that.
