Too Rich to Leave

I'm dreaming of Christmas this morning.

On our floor we have Thursday morning prayer meetings at 6:00 am. This morning, in the midst of finals and everything busy, there were only four of us in my room. A few weeks ago I heard a speaker on prayer, and he made the statement that if we're not talking to God about our fears, we're not really talking to God. So we prayed about our fears and shared them together.

After the sound of "amen," we sat in subdued silence for a few minutes. Papers and classes and breakfast were calling us away, but the silence was too rich to leave. So we sat. Quiet. Pensive. Peaceful.

Until one of us mentioned the need for shower, the rest agreed, and all were gone.

But at Christmas.... at the quiet of the nativity, all is calm. All is bright.

I'll be home for Christmas, you can count on me.
