Beloved Haiti.

Many of you have heard by now of the tragic earthquake in Haiti. Tragic it was. There are thousands dead and thousands of bodies yet to be counted among them. The living are living without a home and without a hope. As many of you also know, my family and I have strong ties in Haiti. We have lost several Haitian friends, namely Fabneau, who I lived with during my HAFF internship, and Wood-ky, my translator. There are many others who we have worked with and grown to love that are now finished racing. They are done running. And they finished well.

Please please please keep the VanSchoyck family in your prayers. Fabneau was like a son to Barb and Greg, and a brother to Zach and Gabbi. This is rending them at the heartstrings. Please pray for peace. For the American inbound flight block to be lifted (right now, not American flights are allowed in by the Haitian government until Mach 18th). For food and clean water. For medical care (the hospital was destroyed and most care is being done in hotels that are still standing). For the Church to be mobilized and compassionate.

Also, my dear friend here at Moody, Welson, is from Haiti. His family is in the effected area and he has yet to hear from them. My heart aches for him as he waits without peace. Pray that they are safe. Pray that he can return home. He is also an RA, and so he is very busy during this season. But he is so hurting for his homeland. Pray.

Just pray.

I know these are just birth pains. Worse is yet to come. So I pray that You would glorify Your name; show Yourself to be a powerful God and great comforter. Show Your glory, Lord! And if You're not going to glorify Yourself, then don't make us go through this! Don't put us through birth pains if You're not going to come soon! You said You are good and faithful and glorious. You said You will never leave us. And I will hold You to Your word.

Lord, Your glory is at stake.

So, please, come.
