We had an alien party tonight. No, I don't know what an alien party is. No, it wasn't my idea.
My mom gets these ideas in her head every once in a while. They're good ideas, really. They're just ... different [love you, mommy]. Every few months we will have a Scriptural-themed party. Tonight, we celebrated being aliens in this world. We had aliens as guests for dinner - made by the kiddos with Tinker toys - and an alien-faced Jello and played alien games. As cookey as it is, I actually love the reminder. Oh, how wonderful it is to know we're not home yet, that our destination is still on the horizon, that our place to belong is still far off.
That feels good, because I don't feel home yet.
