There's something to doing nothing. I did a lot of that tonight. One of my friends and I went to that little favorite cafe I write about so frequently, 3rd Coast, and did nothing. Nothing but talk, drink coffee, be real, eat raspberry scones, laugh, play scrabble, and thank the waiter for coffee refills. It was a blissful night of learning about each other and loving each other for the very place we find ourselves standing right in this moment.
And even though for the majority of our scrabble game I had three u's, two a's, two e's and a j, I put on my coat to leave and felt tremendously refreshed. Then I realized it was almost nine, a delightful surprise. Three hours of sharing life, and I'd go back and do it all again … right now. Something special happened tonight. And I think it's a Gospel something.
