"And [Jesus] said, 'Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, 'The Teacher says, 'My time is near; I am to keep the Passover at your house with My disciples'.'
"While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body.'
"And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying'Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins'. (Matthew 26:18,26-27)
You, in Your Fatherly way, preserved Your people while enslaved in Egypt.
You, in Your Righteous way, insisted a perfect lamb be slaughtered so they could eat his flesh, cover their homes in his blood.
You, in Your Promise Keeping way, passed over those who obeyed in submission and joyful gratitude.
You, in Your Princely way, were the Word of Flesh dwelling among the rubble of our land.
You, in Your Celebratory way, broke the bread and poured the wine.
You, in Your Just way, insisted a lamb be slaughtered.
You, in Your Self-giving way, insisted that You are the bread and You are the wine.
You, in Your Uniting way, command we take of You.
You, in Your Saving way, pass over the sins of those who obey in submission and joyful gratitude.
Amen
