now we are homeward
and when we arrive there,
it will be as morning.
all things will be new.
we, Your glad people,
surging with peace and justice,
with You and like You.
call us to the sky,
make us new and we will be
in easter joy,
unafraid,
and
unweary.
until then
we’ll carry among us the marks of death
and the resurrection life of Jesus
in whose name we pray.
amen.
reflections on "Prayers for a Privileged People" by Walter Brueggemann in anticipation of Jesus.
