We're off! We left for Cedar Rapids Airport this morning at 5:30 am, flew to Cincinnati and on to Newark, NJ. We're staying at the Africa Inland Mission headquarters, and we have felt so welcome and cared for. This evening has been fairly low-key, with dinner and meeting the staff. Tomorrow is a longer orientation day, filled with training, prayer, packing supplies, and culture education.
Some things you could be praying for us:
That we would be refreshed during our time here before we leave and things get even more chaotic.
That we would bond as a team (we just met up with Jason Wanaselja, who will be serving with us this summer). Some members know each other better than others, yet we need to maintain and build unity.
That we would have one vision, be of one purpose and one mind.
For our families at home - specifically my mom's mother, who is in degenerating condition. I am not convinced of her salvation. Please, please pray that the Lord would allow her just enough time to come to know Him personally, and then would take her Home where she will finally be out of pain.
Love you all! Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
Amy, so glad we can follow along in your journey! You know we will be praying for you! Can't wait to hear about the amazing things God has planned for you and Bethany and the team!
