Spring break is rolling along…and at a much more enjoyable pace than the rest of the school year.
I find myself in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with one of my dearest friends. Angela was my RA my sophomore year at Moody, and then we were RAs together last year. We share life in a sweet way, I think. I really love her.
My trip here was mostly uneventful - other than the man in the airport with a fake bird on his shoulder, the 6 babies on my second flight, and the two girls sitting next to me who packed themselves a nice little and lovely smelling snack of hot dogs for the trip, there isn't much to comment on. I was thankful to get on an earlier flight to Spokane from Seattle, which meant I got to sit at the airport with my friend, Chris, while we waited for my luggage. It was a sweet time. (even though by the time I got back to Ang's place it was 3:30am my time…boo.)
This morning, Ang made me breakfast (scones…yummm) and we spent the entire day thrifting. We went to 7 thrift stores and cleaned em out! After making some dinner we curled up and watched a movie, ate ice cream, and are about to go to bed at 9:30pm. Does it get much better than this, friends? Oh, I love it.
Slowing down is good, you know? Thrifting reminded me that someday I want to have a place to decorate. It doesn't have to be a house or even a large apartment. I just want to have space I can call "mine" and leave my mark on it. I want to learn to cook good food and take my time eating it. I want to get 8 hours of sleep each night and wake up without grimacing. I want to read for pleasure and take longer showers. I want to talk about theology and think on philosophical proposals. I want to sew; maybe even paint. I want to slow down.
And I think I will…
in May.
